Job description
The Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician role at AWS involves supporting critical infrastructure projects from conception to completion. The technician will work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of safety and security in data center operations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills who can design and deploy innovative solutions. The NDT Technician will be part of a diverse team dedicated to maintaining and improving AWS's global infrastructure.
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in data center or mission-critical facility operations, or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field.
- Proficiency in identifying safety concerns and maintaining a secure work environment in compliance with NFPA 70E guidelines.
- Basic scripting experience in Python.
- Must have a valid driver's license issued by the state of residence.
Responsibilities
- Apply non-destructive testing techniques to maintain and troubleshoot data center critical systems.
- Act as an ambassador for safety and promote safe working practices across the site.
- Interact with engineers, technicians, project managers, and management on a daily basis.
- Document all inspection discrepancies and defects in detailed reports.
- Provide support for planned and unplanned outages.
