Job description

The AWS Data Center Global Services team is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Controls Design Engineering team, focusing on enhancing global data center design standards related to control, automation, and electrical power monitoring systems. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the highest safety and security standards while optimizing costs for customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center environmental controls systems and project management. This position requires a commitment to innovation and the ability to work in high-security environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or 5+ years of experience in building automation systems (BMS) and/or electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) design and deployment.
  • 2+ years of experience with data center or mission-critical facility control systems.
  • 2+ years of experience with HVAC systems, mechanical plant strategies, and control programming concepts.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of the job role.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Track, document, communicate, and enhance global data center design standards.
  • Provide Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) design coordination globally.
  • Create, maintain, and disseminate specification documents for global projects.
  • Lead collaboration with multiple teams including construction, programmers, and engineers to accomplish initiative goals.
  • Act as the central point of contact for multiple internal and external groups regarding BMS/EPMS controls standards.
