The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer role at AWS involves managing infrastructure equipment quality by collaborating with engineering, procurement, and suppliers. This position is critical for ensuring high-quality standards and ongoing support throughout the equipment lifecycle. The team focuses on supplier qualifications, quality monitoring, and improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 8+ years in a quality management function with direct interaction with suppliers
- 8+ years in Electrical, Mechanical Product manufacturing, supplier quality
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- 8+ years of working with external suppliers experience
- Experience with data center operations and infrastructure equipment
- Ability in managing multiple qualification activities and development schedules
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain the Supplier Quality roadmap for complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment.
- Manage complete equipment lifecycle quality by working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Improve equipment quality by performing thorough on-site audits to ensure compliance with AWS Quality and product specifications.
- Drive Supplier Quality Improvement Programs and track supplier performance against key performance indicators.
- Develop critical to quality parameters and perform inspections and functional testing for complex equipment.
- Review historical failures and design changes to update equipment technical specifications.
- Lead root cause analysis for complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment.
- Evaluate and validate complex root cause analysis reports using critical thinking and quality principles.
- Develop new product and supplier qualification plans in terms of quality.
- Perform data analysis on failures and create technical reports for design and specification improvements.
- Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.
- Demonstrate a can-do attitude and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
