The ML Data Ops team at Apple is seeking an exceptional engineering lead who is passionate about Apple products and data operations at scale. This role focuses on improving complex ML data pipelines and data infrastructure to support AI-centric features across various Apple products. The team is dedicated to acquiring, synthesizing, annotating, and ensuring the quality of ML data in collaboration with R&D teams. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to positively impact critical features from day one.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of industry experience as a software engineer, including 2+ years as a tech lead or architect specialized in data infrastructure.
- Proven experience designing, automating, and scaling large data pipelines, preferably at petabyte scale.
- Expertise in Python or another modern programming language.
- Strong ability to design and lead a technical roadmap and work with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in foundation models and building data infrastructure for generative technologies.
- Self-starter with the ability to handle ambiguity and identify risks.
Responsibilities
- Establish and execute the strategy for the organization's ML data engine.
- Mentor and grow engineers within the ML data ops team.
- Design and improve complex ML data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to drive features based on high-quality ML datasets.
