The System Experience Test Engineering team at Apple is seeking a dedicated software engineer to ensure the quality of Apple's iconic operating systems. This role involves working on projects like SpringBoard and Spotlight, collaborating closely with software engineers and project managers. The engineer will focus on both manual and automated testing to deliver high-quality software. Attention to detail and a passion for quality processes are essential for success in this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or two years of directly related work experience.
- Three years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience writing code in Swift or Objective C to test an API, SDK, or Frameworks.
- Experience writing and triaging automated software tests such as unit-tests, regression tests, functional tests, and stress tests.
- Experience in developing test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate bugs, and consolidating bug reports.
- Experience in driving development and deployment of relevant testing tools and infrastructure.
- Experience with XCTest and Xcode.
- Detail oriented, analytical, and a creative problem solver with a passion for quality processes.
- Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution.
- Ability to work independently, raise issues, and take corrective action.
- Keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Work on a multi-functional team responsible for testing Apple's operating systems.
- Collaborate with software engineers, project managers, and other quality teams.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality software through continuous integration testing.
- Conduct a mix of manual testing supplemented by automated suites.
