Job description
The Financing and Retail Systems team at Apple is seeking an experienced Software Engineer In Test to enhance product quality through continuous analysis and internal tools. This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong technical skills and a passion for software quality. Requirements
- Experience as a Software Engineer or Software Engineer in Test.
- Proficient in building automation tools and frameworks for testing web services such as REST and gRPC.
- Proficient in Java programming (JDK 11 or newer) with experience in scripting using Python and Shell.
- Strong understanding of at least one relational and one non-relational (NoSQL) database.
- Experience in Web/UI automation using Selenium, Appium, or Playwright.
- Experience in testing data pipelines and messaging platforms like Kafka.
- In-depth knowledge of application frameworks like Spring.
- Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD processes with experience in tools like Jenkins or GitHub.
- Experience in documenting test plans and executing test cases.
- Understanding of cloud platforms, notably AWS and/or GCP.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop testing infrastructure including tools, frameworks, and reporting mechanisms.
- Integrate test suites and infrastructure with CI/CD systems to meet quality goals.
- Write various types of tests such as unit, integration, smoke, and performance tests.
- Stay knowledgeable of new testing tools and strategies to incorporate into projects.
- Collaborate with manual and automation team members to develop effective testing strategies.
- Analyze test results and provide actionable feedback to improve software quality.
- Investigate, debug, and triage difficult problems both independently and collaboratively.
