Job description
The ML Data Team at Apple is seeking an exceptional software and data engineer who is passionate about Apple products and data operations at scale. This team is responsible for building high-quality datasets that drive critical features across various Apple products. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment to continuously improve ML data pipelines. Candidates will have the opportunity to impact multiple features from day one.
Requirements
- 7+ years of industry experience as a data engineer serving various ML applications, preferably in the vision domain.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience designing, automating, and scaling large data pipelines, ideally at petabyte scale.
- Expertise in Python, Go, or another modern programming language.
- Strong ability to design and lead a technical roadmap and work with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale multimodal datasets for foundation models.
- Proven track record of mentoring and growing engineers.
Responsibilities
- Acquire, synthesize, annotate, and ensure the quality of ML data.
- Drive numerous features in collaboration with R&D teams in Apple's SWE organization.
- Design and automate large data pipelines using state-of-the-art processing technologies.
- Produce high-quality, efficient code and participate in code reviews.
- Identify risks and autonomously find the right people and tools to complete tasks.
