Job description

The Display Metrology Engineer at Apple is a key role for individuals passionate about display technology. This position is part of the Display Technology team, which emphasizes collaboration and innovation to develop world-class products. The engineer will focus on designing and developing solutions for calibrating and testing display modules and components. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality in display technology.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Optics, Physics, Applied Science, or Engineering with 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience working in metrology of display products such as OLED, LCD, or LED.
  • Experience in display design, characterization, calibration, or testing.
  • Familiarity with optical instruments like CCD/CMOS cameras, spectrophotometers, or colorimeters.
  • Advanced Degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience developing and qualifying metrology systems and instruments.
  • Experience with software control of hardware instrumentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to define calibration and measurement requirements.
  • Propose optimal solutions for display metrology methodologies.
  • Develop, characterize, and validate industry-leading display metrology solutions.
  • Create test sequences that control optical instruments and display modules.
  • Conduct failure analysis of measurement systems and define corrective actions.
