Job description

As a millimeter-wave IC design engineer at Apple, you will be part of a fast-growing team focused on mmWave and cellular wireless design. The role emphasizes highly integrated and efficient designs that enhance user experience. You will provide circuit and system solutions for multi-gigabit wireless chips, collaborating with various teams to define requirements and integrate designs. This position is open to multiple experience levels, making it an exciting opportunity for those passionate about mmWave technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of industry experience are required.
  • Solid understanding of RF and analog circuit design fundamentals is necessary.
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools such as Cadence or ADS is essential.
  • Familiarity with mmWave, RF, and analog integrated circuit design is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of system specifications and the ability to translate them into circuit requirements is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with platform architects, system engineers, and digital design groups to define mmWave design requirements.
  • Work with technology teams and foundries on process evaluation and selection for target devices.
  • Design various transceiver blocks in TX, RX, and LO chains.
  • Partner with design, layout, and chip integration teams to integrate IPs and verify functionality.
  • Work with mmWave test engineers to bring up and characterize chips.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
