Job description

As a millimeter-wave IC design engineer at Apple, you will be part of a fast-growing team focused on mmWave and cellular wireless design. The role emphasizes providing circuit and system solutions for multi-gigabit wireless chips. You will collaborate with various teams to define requirements and work on the design and integration of transceiver blocks. This position requires a solid understanding of RF and analog circuit design fundamentals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
  • Solid understanding of RF and analog circuit design fundamentals.
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools such as Cadence or ADS.
  • Experience in mmWave, RF, and analog integrated circuit design.
  • Deep understanding of system specifications and the ability to translate them into circuit requirements.
  • Familiarity with various RF transceiver architectures and their trade-offs.
  • Extensive experience in the simulation and design of passive structures.
  • Proven experience in the analysis and design of mmWave amplifiers, mixers, and oscillators.
  • Understanding of mmWave device modeling and packaging effects.
  • Hands-on experience in high-frequency silicon characterization and debug is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with platform architects, system engineers, and digital design groups to define mmWave design requirements.
  • Work with technology teams and foundries on process evaluation and selection for target devices.
  • Design various transceiver blocks in TX, RX, and LO chains.
  • Partner with design, layout, and chip integration teams to integrate IPs and verify functionality.
  • Work with mmWave test engineers to bring up and characterize chips.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
