Job description

The Wireless Product Validation Engineer will be part of the Product Systems Quality organization, focusing on validating wireless features for Apple products. This role involves collaboration with Hardware Engineering, Hardware Technology, and Software Engineering teams to ensure high-quality performance for end users. The engineer will lead the automation of wireless performance testbeds and contribute to the development of exceptional wireless experiences. A strong understanding of wireless technologies and practical experience in validation are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field
  • Proven experience as a Software Test and Automation Engineer specializing in wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, and other wireless protocols
  • 1-3+ years of proven experience evaluating wireless performance in WiFi or Bluetooth
  • 1-3+ years of proven programming experience in scripting languages such as PERL, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, C#, and others
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Master's in an Engineering field preferred
  • Strong debugging experience is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols: Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) or Bluetooth/BLE, 802.15.4/Thread/Matter
  • Proficiency in network/RF tools such as iPerf, Wireshark, Ellisys, Network and Spectrum Analyzers, attenuators is beneficial
  • Experience working with standards bodies in the wireless domain, including IEEE, Wi-Fi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, Thread Group, is beneficial
