Job description
The Apple Services Engineering Security team is seeking a Senior Security Engineering Manager to lead a team of security engineers. This role focuses on enhancing security maturity across ASE by collaborating with various engineering teams to protect services and establish a secure foundation. The manager will balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise, ensuring high security standards while fostering team growth. The position requires a strong background in security engineering and people management to drive security initiatives effectively.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in security engineering with hands-on security reviews, threat modeling, security architecture, and risk assessment.
- 6+ years of people management experience leading teams of security engineers.
- Proven track record of building and scaling security programs.
- Strong experience partnering with engineering leadership to influence security strategy.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and modern development practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with an emphasis in security-related fields or equivalent experience.
- Certifications like CISSP, OSCP, OSCE, OSEE, etc.
- Background in emerging technology security domains such as AI/ML security or zero-trust architectures.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of security engineers focused on driving security maturity for ASE.
- Collaborate with developers, site reliability engineers, and security teams to protect ASE services.
- Set strategy and lead execution to harden products and services against attackers.
- Align security priorities with business objectives and advocate for security improvements.
- Build scalable security programs that protect Apple's services and users.
- Mentor team members to deliver high-quality security reviews and foster professional growth.
- Work cross-functionally with privacy, offensive security, and other security teams.
- Manage competing priorities and make strategic trade-offs while maintaining high security standards.
