The role is for an engineer in Apple's Trusted Execution team within the Security Engineering and Architecture organization. This team focuses on developing technologies that enhance user safety while using Apple products. The engineer will work on the entire system, from CPU features to applications, and will be responsible for defining and implementing new security technologies. The position requires collaboration with various teams to improve security and drive the adoption of innovative security methods.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer in a Systems Programming or Kernel Development role
- Strong understanding of operating systems internals
- Industry knowledge of OS security and applied cryptography including PKI and Public Key Signatures
- Excellent C and Systems programming skills including secure development practices
- Experience with at least one constrained runtime environment such as system boot or embedded OS
- Ability to critically analyze security properties of a system via a threat model
- Excellent collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Help define the security properties and architecture for the next-generation operating system
- Design and implement new approaches to securing device boot flow and authenticating OS assets
- Develop methods for code signing, execution monitoring, and malware mitigation
- Collaborate with other parts of Apple on technologies to improve security
- Provide architectural mentorship to teams lacking resident security expertise
- Create and quickly bring to market new security methods and technologies
