Job description

Apple is seeking a Wireless System Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on crafting innovative wireless SoC products. This role involves system integration, characterization, and debugging of state-of-the-art wireless technology. The engineer will work closely with silicon from initial arrival to shipping, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The position requires a strong understanding of communication theory and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

Requirements

  • BS degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in wireless system design, integration, or bring-up
  • MSEE or Ph.D. with relevant experience
  • Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols such as 802.11 and LTE
  • Understanding of communication theory and key Tx/Rx metrics like EVM and sensitivity
  • Experience with radio calibration algorithms and system integration
  • Proficiency in using wireless/RF test equipment such as signal analyzers and generators
  • Experience with programming languages including Python, Matlab, Perl, C/C++, or C#
  • Experience in developing test automation and related infrastructure tools

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and characterize wireless SoC products from chip back to shipping
  • Engage in the bring-up and tuning of PHY and radio systems
  • Optimize performance and debug issues using communication theory and calibration algorithms
  • Utilize test equipment to identify and resolve issues in silicon performance
  • Develop test automation tools and scripts for efficient testing and reporting
