Job description

The Video Computer Vision organization at Apple is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to enhance their cloud-based infrastructure team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining infrastructure, tooling, and engineering services for real-time image and video applications. The engineer will work closely with software development and machine learning teams to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of cloud-based applications. The position requires expertise in various technologies, including AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.

Requirements

  • BS and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting large-scale production applications in an SRE role.
  • 3+ years of experience managing SRE teams and supporting mission-critical applications.
  • 3+ years of experience in hybrid cloud infrastructure management.
  • Expert knowledge of Linux, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, and Redis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure, tooling, and engineering services for cloud-based applications.
  • Provide operational support for multiple cloud-based applications with an emphasis on deployment, security, scalability, and reliability.
  • Drive solutions for hybrid infrastructure and infrastructure architecture for the AWS-based cloud platform.
  • Collaborate with highly skilled software development and ML teams to support cutting-edge algorithms.
  • Teach best practices and mentor engineers to improve their skills and knowledge.
