Job description

This role is designed for driven individuals who are passionate about learning new technologies and solving complex challenges. The ETS Team at Apple focuses on developing innovative platforms and services that support the Apple ecosystem. The position requires collaboration with engineering teams to deliver quality solutions in a dynamic environment. Candidates will work on identity management, device support, and infrastructure services to ensure a secure and seamless user experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in programming languages such as Java or scripting languages like Python, Bash, or LUA.
  • Hands-on experience with databases, including Relational and NoSQL databases like Oracle and MongoDB.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
  • Proficiency in Linux and networking concepts, including TLS/SSL, DNS, and Load Balancers.
  • Familiarity with source control management tools like Git and understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of security standards, policies, and cryptography.
  • Experience with incident and problem management, including root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts and experience with AWS or GCP is preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience in governance and compliance.
  • Understanding of SRE principles, including observability and service reliability measurements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and maintain reliable applications.
  • Ensure the security and performance of applications within the Apple ecosystem.
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions to enhance observability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in large-scale environments.
  • Participate in incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and apply them to improve existing systems.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices in software engineering and site reliability.
