Job description
We are looking for a Senior BMC Firmware Engineer to enhance the manageability and security of Apple datacenter systems. This role involves designing and leading the development of BMC firmware for next-generation server platforms. You will collaborate with a team of skilled engineers dedicated to engineering excellence. Your contributions will significantly impact the infrastructure's serviceability and security.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in embedded Linux development with strong C/C++ programming skills.
- Experience with scripting in Bash and Python.
- At least 3-5 years in a role focused on product development and technical project leadership.
- Deep understanding of AMI MegaRAC and OpenBMC, including IPMI and system/D-Bus services.
- Expertise with server platform interfaces such as PCIe, I2C/I3C, and Ethernet controllers.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of security features in BMC environments.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries.
- Proven success in supporting BMC software on new hardware.
Responsibilities
- Design the BMC firmware architecture.
- Lead the BMC firmware development and ensure its robustness against security threats.
- Drive projects through EVT/DVT/PVT phases in collaboration with global ODM/OEM vendors.
- Collaborate with EDKII/BIOS and work on platform enablement.
- Anticipate, identify, and resolve technical and schedule challenges proactively.
