Job description
The Channel Store Product Design Engineer will be part of the Channel Store Product Design team, which focuses on creating innovative store fixtures that enhance the customer experience with Apple products. This role involves understanding design goals related to aesthetics, safety, and functionality while collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams. The engineer will tackle unique design challenges and contribute to the development of solutions that effectively merchandise Apple products. Requirements
- B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong mechanical intuition and understanding of solid mechanics and material properties
- Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software
- Familiarity with metal manufacturing methodologies
- Experience with FEA, DFMEA, and root cause analysis
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of program design goals including installation and maintenance requirements
- Guide vendors through the design of a variety of store fixtures
- Create solutions that effectively merchandise and showcase Apple products
- Work cross-functionally and actively listen to input from a wide range of partners
- Challenge assumptions thoughtfully and drive solutions forward once a path is determined
