Job description

The Camera Hardware Engineering group focuses on the design and innovation of camera hardware for Apple products. As a member of the Camera Semiconductor Technologies team, you will work on modeling, designing, optimizing, and validating pixels and sensors. The role involves developing new depth sensing technology and collaborating with cross-functional teams on various aspects of system and device development. This position requires a strong background in electrical engineering or physics, along with experience in image sensor technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, EECS, physics, or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in building test setups, running characterizations, and analyzing results using software such as MATLAB or Python.
  • Experience working on active ranging systems such as LIDAR, Time-of-Flight, or FMCW.
  • MSc or PhD in electrical engineering, EECS, physics, or relevant industry experience.
  • Familiarity with image sensor technology and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Model, design, optimize, and validate pixels and in-pixel circuits.
  • Develop new sensors and depth sensing technology.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams on system, module, circuit, and device development.
  • Conduct sensor characterization, bring-up, and debug.
  • Build optical and imaging systems.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
