This role involves system integration and characterization, focusing on PHY/Radio bringup and performance optimization. The engineer will collaborate with a dynamic team to ensure the silicon meets high standards before shipping. This position requires a strong understanding of communication theory and practical experience in wireless system design.

Requirements

  • BS degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in wireless system design, integration, or bring-up.
  • MSEE or Ph.D. with relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols such as 802.11 and LTE.
  • Understanding of communication theory and key Tx/Rx metrics like EVM and sensitivity.
  • Experience with radio calibration algorithms.
  • Experience in system bring-up, integration, characterization, and debug of real wireless silicon.
  • Familiarity with wireless/RF test equipment like signal analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience in developing test automation and related tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, Perl, C/C++, or C#.
  • Experience with automation infrastructure development and related tools.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and characterize state-of-the-art wireless SoC products.
  • Bring up and integrate the PHY/Radio components.
  • Execute PHY and radio level characterization on internal silicon solutions.
  • Engage with the first silicon arrivals to tune and debug system performance.
  • Optimize performance using communication theory and radio calibration algorithms.
  • Identify and resolve issues using test equipment and software skills.
  • Ensure silicon performance meets or exceeds expectations.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
