Job description
The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) Security team is seeking a Security Engineering Manager to lead the development of next-generation security tools and services for Apple. This role involves integrating security tools into engineering pipelines across Apple Services while ensuring that security measures do not hinder product teams. The manager will influence the program's structure and investment strategies, shaping the future of security within the organization. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively engage with both engineering and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in security engineering or a related technical discipline
- 10+ years leading technical teams
- Track record of building or scaling security programs that serve multiple engineering organizations
- Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain strong engineering talent
- Experience influencing senior leadership on security strategy and investment priorities
- Strong communicator able to translate security risk into terms that resonate with engineering and business stakeholders
- Experience in high-velocity, product-focused engineering environments
- Background in software or platform engineering
- Experience building shared security platforms or services consumed across multiple teams
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Experience driving adoption of security tooling across organizational boundaries without direct authority
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development practices
Responsibilities
- Own the strategy and execution for integrating security tools into engineering pipelines across Apple Services.
- Lead a team of engineers to build production-grade automation and integrations for security programs.
- Partner with engineering leadership to shape how security is embedded across the organization.
- Define what good security looks like and build the systems and culture to achieve it.
- Influence the program's structure and investment strategies for security initiatives.
