Job description

The Video Applications team at Apple is seeking a Software Developer in Test with expertise in macOS apps, video codecs, and audio technologies. This role focuses on ensuring the quality of innovative tools for creative professionals and video makers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for video editing and a strong background in testing methodologies. You will collaborate with team members to enhance product quality and contribute to the development of cutting-edge applications.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Software Engineer in Test with programming skills in Python and/or Swift.
  • Proficiency in testing mobile and desktop applications.
  • Strong knowledge of professional video codecs and transcoding.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience of 5+ years in QA/QE.
  • Background in photography, audio, or video editing.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, write, maintain, and execute test cases manually and through automation using Swift and Python.
  • Drive quality and process improvements to ensure features are ready for release.
  • Report bugs with effective isolation and regression techniques.
  • Manage priorities and communicate progress and risks systematically.
  • Coordinate multi-functional test efforts with team members.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
