Job description

The Wireless System Engineer at Apple will be part of the Wireless Connectivity team, focusing on the integration, bring-up, and tuning of physical layer and RF systems for next-generation wireless SoCs. This role involves collaboration across various disciplines to ensure seamless integration and optimal wireless performance. The engineer will work from the pre-silicon stage to product launch, contributing to products that enhance the lives of millions of customers. A strong foundation in wireless system design and signal processing is essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Hands-on experience in wireless system design, integration, or bring-up.
  • Strong fundamentals in signal processing, communication theory, and OFDM systems.
  • Preferred BSEE/MSEE with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with wireless PHY and RF systems on SoC platforms.
  • Strong understanding of wireless transceiver architectures and RF front-ends.
  • Knowledge of analog/RF impairments and their calibration flows.
  • Proficiency in performance metrics such as EVM and sensitivity.
  • Experience working in multi-radio coexistence environments.
  • Proficiency in using lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Matlab, Python, Shell scripting, or C/C++.
  • Experience with automation infrastructure development and related tools.
  • Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and tune physical layer and RF systems for wireless SoCs.
  • Collaborate with PHY algorithms, RF design, digital, MAC, and firmware teams.
  • Ensure seamless integration and best-in-class wireless performance.
  • Contribute to the development of upcoming products from pre-silicon to launch.
  • Debug and bring up wireless PHY and RF systems on SoC platforms.
