Job description

The GNS team at Apple is focused on building and operating advanced distributed cloud platforms that integrate Apple's private cloud with leading third-party providers like AWS and Google Cloud Platform. The role of the Distributed Cloud Network Solution Architect involves designing, validating, and deploying high-performance networking solutions in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. This position requires collaboration with internal engineering teams and cloud providers to implement complex workloads, including AI/ML and data-intensive services. Strong technical and customer-facing skills are essential for leading discussions and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Strong customer- and partner-facing skills with the ability to lead complex technical discussions.
  • Deep understanding of third-party cloud networking, including VPC connectivity technologies and cloud security.
  • Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and debugging Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Deep understanding of container networking technologies in third-party clouds such as EKS and GKE.
  • Solid knowledge of cloud network security, including network segmentation and firewalling.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, validate, and deploy high-performance networking solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and strategic cloud providers to bring advanced workloads into production.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deliver results in fast-paced environments.
  • Lead complex technical discussions with customers and partners.
  • Ensure secure connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
