Job description
The Applied Machine Learning team in the AI and Data Platform organization is focused on accelerating digital transformation through machine learning within Apple's enterprise ecosystem. This role involves building and operating machine learning, GenAI, inference, and data platforms to meet critical business needs. The engineer will tackle challenges related to scale and performance using cutting-edge technologies in hybrid cloud environments. The position emphasizes collaboration across multiple teams and a proactive approach to improving service availability.
Requirements
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of programming experience in Python, Java, or Go.
- 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container orchestration frameworks.
- Ability to read and explain open source codebases.
- Experience deploying and managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong expertise in troubleshooting complex production issues.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Iceberg, or emerging GenAI/ML technologies like Ray, MLflow, or model serving.
- Familiarity with Linux, database, and security concepts.
Responsibilities
- Work on projects related to GenAI, machine learning, inference, and big data platforms.
- Build and operate large scale platforms and distributed systems.
- Conduct performance analysis and troubleshoot large scale distributed systems.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to understand complex architectures.
- Proactively focus on improving uptime and availability of mission-critical services.
