Job description
The Mechanical Engineering Product Quality Manager at Apple will be part of the New Product Introduction and development teams, focusing on the quality of next-generation Apple products. This role involves collaborating with designers to develop measurement technologies and manufacturing methods that meet visionary specifications. The team is responsible for managing supplier factories and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products. Attention to detail and the ability to solve complex manufacturing issues are essential for success in this position.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience in product development, enclosures, castings, plastic parts, glass parts, injection molding, tooling, jigs, fixtures, or high-volume quality manufacturing engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
- Master's degree or MBA in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency with 2D drawing, GD&T, alignments, and 3D CAD modeling.
- Experience in 3D measurement metrology and developing fixture designs and qualifications of tooling.
- Strong communication skills in verbal and written English.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design teams to develop measurement technologies and control strategies.
- Manage a network of supplier factories to ensure delivery to aggressive schedules.
- Focus on the execution of industrial designs to produce high-quality products.
- Utilize data forensics to address complex manufacturing assembly quality issues.
- Build strong relationships with functional engineering teams.
