Requirements

  • Experience with operating system design and implementation.
  • Kernel software development experience in C or C++.

  • MS in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering or a similar engineering degree.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware performance monitoring instrumentation.
  • Userland software development experience in environments such as C, C++, Swift, or Python.

Responsibilities

  • Study the execution of workloads on Apple silicon across all Apple platforms.
  • Invent new operating system performance control features based on workload analysis.
  • Design and conduct performance experiments to gather data.
  • Create instrumentation and data visualizations for performance metrics.
  • Prototype innovative in-kernel performance control algorithms.
  • Collaborate with teams ranging from the core operating system to user-facing applications.
  • Productize software that controls the performance of workloads executed on Apple products.
