Job description
The role is for a highly motivated engineer to join the GPU Platform Architecture Team at Apple, focusing on advanced exploration of next-generation GPU architectures for iPhone, iPad, and Mac products. This position involves collaboration with architecture, design, and software partners to define and enhance Apple's GPU power architectures. The engineer will engage in C++ and Python code development, building and maintaining GPU models. This is a critical role that impacts the delivery of high-performance products to millions of customers.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- 20+ years of relevant experience in GPU or CPU architecture and micro-architecture design
- Proficiency in C/C++ and a scripting language such as Python or Ruby
- Experience in power modeling, active power management, and optimizing device power
- Experience with creating adaptive or machine learning-based algorithms
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with GPU architects, RTL designers, and software teams to assess new hardware and software power features
- Develop and maintain GPU models to enhance the power architecture of Apple's GPUs
- Run experiments and report findings to improve GPU modeling and features
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver the best overall solutions
- Engage in C++ and Python code development related to GPU architecture
