Job description
As a Quality Engineer on the Retail Engineering Point of Sale (POS) team at Apple, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of software that supports Apple Retail Stores. This team is dedicated to providing seamless service to millions of customers and is known for its innovative approach. You will work closely with development engineers to create test plans, report bugs, and identify automation opportunities. Your contributions will help maintain Apple's high standards of quality across various applications and tools.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of relevant testing experience
- Proficiency in Java or similar language
- Proficiency in SQL
- Experience testing iOS applications
- Hands-on experience using generative AI/LLMs for test generation, code review, and documentation
- Excellent communication skills with a sense of ownership and ability to advocate for quality across teams
- Self-motivated with sharp attention to detail and a mindset for finding edge cases
- Track record of reducing repetitive manual processes through automation and tooling improvements in Python, Java or similar language
- Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, and performance testing methodologies
- Ability to read and assess code quality and risk across Java or similar languages
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, prioritize issues by customer impact, and collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
Responsibilities
- Take an active role in shaping the quality of software.
- Create test plans and report bugs while triaging issues.
- Identify automation opportunities and support design reviews.
- Sync with multi-functional teams to reduce duplication and foster better testing.
- Help maintain product stability by identifying holes in coverage.
