Job description

In this lead role at Apple, you will focus on designing and developing Softgoods products that integrate textiles and soft polymers into innovative technologies. You will work within a collaborative team environment, partnering with industrial designers and engineers to create exceptional products for the Vision Pro, AirPods Max, and HomePods. The role emphasizes the importance of creativity and diverse thinking in product development. You will also have the opportunity to learn about unique materials and assembly processes specific to Softgoods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of product design experience with extensive CAD skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to present technical concepts to a multi-disciplinary team
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience with NX software is a plus
  • Previous experience in Softgoods and/or wearables product design

Responsibilities

  • Design and build prototypes in collaboration with the Industrial Design team
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to create Softgoods products
  • Learn to integrate electrical and mechanical components into Softgoods
  • Develop and ship Softgoods products that delight customers
