Job description
Apple's Industrial Design team is seeking a CMF Engineering Program Manager to collaborate with the internal color team in delivering exceptional colors, materials, and finishes for Apple products. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects from design to manufacturing. This role requires effective communication with various internal and external groups while maintaining ownership of numerous physical samples and documents critical to product development. The position emphasizes the importance of understanding product timelines and adapting to design changes.
Requirements
- Superb organizational skills
- Experience with managing large amounts of information
- Technical background in material science, engineering, consumer products, textiles, fashion, or automotive
- Ability to take direction and work independently as well as collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High emotional intelligence to filter information and understand urgency
- Knowledge of Keynote, Excel, and Numbers
- Engineering degree preferred
- Interest in learning the fundamentals of color science
Responsibilities
- Track, manage, and drive multiple color palettes for various products
- Juggle multiple project schedules to meet deadlines for color design decisions and engineering builds
- Quickly pivot and switch gears during the iterative design process and design changes
- Hold weekly designer reviews and meetings with engineers to move projects forward
- Ingest and prioritize a large amount of information and translate it to multiple audiences
- Maintain ownership of color targets, master standards, and build units
- Work across multiple groups including vendors, product teams, research teams, and manufacturing
