The Engineering Manager will lead SRE teams focused on providing foundational block storage for various compute platforms at Apple. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust storage solutions. The ASE Storage team is dedicated to enhancing distributed storage technologies within Apple's infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distributed systems and a passion for reliability engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a Storage Software Engineering or SRE team focused on distributed storage.
- Strong background in distributed systems and Block Storage.
- Deep knowledge of SRE principles, including monitoring, alerting, and fault analysis.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Virtualization, and containerization.
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, or Rust.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements in storage systems.
- Understanding of data durability, consistency models, and storage performance optimization techniques.
