Job description
In this lead role within Softgoods Engineering at Apple, you will leverage your design experience to define Softgoods architectures and develop innovative products that enhance existing lines and enable new technologies. You will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and designers in customized labs to create soft products that integrate mechanical components seamlessly. The position focuses on delivering extraordinary Apple products made from soft materials, requiring creativity and collaboration. You will also have the opportunity to learn about unique materials and assembly processes that differ from traditional engineering methods.
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of product design experience with extensive CAD experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present technical concepts
- MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred
- Experience with NX software is a plus
- Previous experience in Softgoods and/or wearables product design is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Design and build prototypes in collaboration with the Industrial Design team
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to create Softgoods products for various Apple devices
- Learn to integrate electrical and mechanical components into Softgoods products
- Develop and ship Softgoods products that delight customers
- Work in a cohesive team environment to tackle challenges in product design
