Job description

As a Silicon Component Reliability Engineer at Apple, you will be part of the Silicon Technologies group, focusing on the introduction and qualification of new products. Your role will involve ensuring high quality and reliability in the design and manufacturing of next-generation processors and system-on-chips. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams and third parties to drive product qualification and reliability testing. This position emphasizes innovation and attention to detail, contributing to the development of technology that enhances Apple products and services.

Requirements

  • BS degree in a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor engineering in Reliability and/or Quality/Product Engineering.
  • Experience with JEDEC reliability and quality related standards.
  • Experience with silicon product level reliability qualification and lifetime behavior model.
  • Prior experience defining hardware setups and equipment for various tests.
  • Validated auditing of supplier sites, materials, and processes.
  • Experience driving suppliers in silicon Fab process, packaging, assembly, and ongoing reliability monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Drive requirements and execution of products, process, and package qualification.
  • Lead all aspects of qualification preparation including material and electrical bias considerations.
  • Implement process flows and supervise product performance.
  • Perform First Article Inspection to ensure critical goals are met before production release.
  • Drive investigation and resolution of qualification fallouts and nonconformance events.
  • Support PCN or ECN activities as needed.
  • Conduct supplier audits when necessary.
  • Assess and perform yield analysis and correlation analysis for all levels of testing.
  • Guide suppliers for improvement in their processes.
