Job description
The role is for a highly motivated engineer to join Apple's GPU Platform Architecture Team, focusing on the exploration of next-generation GPU architectures for iPhone, iPad, and Mac products. This position involves collaboration with architecture, design, and software partners to define and enhance Apple's GPU power architectures. The engineer will engage in C++ and Python code development while building and maintaining GPU models. This is a critical role that impacts the performance of products delivered to millions of customers.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- Experience in GPU or CPU architecture and micro-architecture design
- Proficiency in C/C++ and a scripting language such as Python or Ruby
- Experience working as part of large cross-functional teams
- Experience in power modeling, active power management, and optimizing device power
- Experience with creating adaptive or machine learning-based algorithms
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with GPU architects, RTL designers, and software teams to assess new hardware and software power features.
- Develop and maintain GPU models to enhance the power architecture of Apple's GPUs.
- Run experiments and report findings to improve GPU power architecture.
- Work closely with various disciplines in chip design efforts.
- Contribute to the definition and tuning of future GPU power architectures.
