The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team is looking for an experienced Security Engineering Program Manager to lead and scale their Offensive Security Team (Red Team). This role involves working closely with various engineering teams to identify security risks and drive improvements in software and development processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in offensive security and will be responsible for managing red team engagements and remediation efforts. The position emphasizes collaboration, communication, and building trust across the organization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing projects or programs in the field of security.
- 2+ years of experience working in offensive security, red team operations, or penetration testing.
- Proficiency in managing complex projects, including defining scopes, setting timelines, and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- A solid understanding of software development, systems engineering, or related technical fields.
- Working knowledge of red team operations, penetration testing methodologies, and common attack frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
- BS in Computer Science or related technical field or relevant industry experience.
- Proven history of building or scaling an offensive security or red team program.
- Prior hands-on experience in a penetration testing, red team, or security engineering role.
- Experience with cloud security and cloud-based attack surfaces.
- Ability to identify, assess, and prioritize security risks surfaced through offensive testing.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to strengthen security posture through targeted adversarial exercises and simulation.
- Drive the end-to-end planning and execution of red team engagements.
- Manage remediation tracking and work with service owners to develop innovative solutions.
- Engage a broad set of stakeholders to deliver program security outcomes.
- Communicate appropriate remediation strategies to protect organizational assets.
- Foster collaboration and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assess complex security challenges and develop innovative solutions.
