Job description

The Applied Scientist role at Apple focuses on leveraging causal inference, statistics, and machine learning to optimize marketing channels. This position is part of the Services Data Science & Analytics organization, which is dedicated to improving customer experiences while maintaining privacy. The role involves working with large datasets and collaborating with various teams to deliver significant business value. The ideal candidate will push the boundaries of AIML solutions to enhance customer acquisition and engagement.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience as an Applied Scientist, Machine Learning, or Data Scientist
  • Familiarity with a broad range of quasi-experimental Causal Inference techniques
  • Hands-on experience building Marketing Mix models and validation through Matched Market testing
  • Solid understanding of AIML technologies including Generative AI
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Java, or C++
  • Experience with cloud platforms, Spark, Docker, and MLOps tools and best practices
  • PhD in a related field is preferred
