Job description
The role of Si photonics & optical Packaging Engineer focuses on developing high-efficiency optical I/O module architecture and packaging solutions for silicon photonics technology. The engineer will work within a cross-functional team to support the development of optical engine modules and co-packaging optics. This position emphasizes hands-on experience in optical component design and packaging, aiming to optimize performance, reliability, yield, and cost. The engineer will also collaborate with vendors and foundries to bring packaging solutions from concept to high-volume manufacturing.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- M.S or Ph.D. in Physics (Optics major), Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the related field with M.S. or Ph.D.
- Strong theoretical background in optics and photonics fundamentals.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Support Si photonics packaging technology development.
- Define assembly baseline processes and decide package BOM.
- Establish optical coupling design and manufacturing optimized for performance.
- Drive micro-optical component assembly and interface characterization.
- Collaborate with optical component vendors, foundries, and OSAT to bring solutions from concept to high-volume manufacturing.
