Apple's AI & Data Platform (AiDP) team is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to build and scale innovative AI models and systems that enhance Apple's products and services. This role involves engaging with business partners to understand their needs and leading technical discussions with development teams. The engineer will implement robust ML infrastructure and develop automated pipelines for data processing and model training. • BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent.
• 3+ years of machine learning engineering experience in feature engineering, model training, model serving, model monitoring, and model refresh management.
• Experience developing AI/ML systems at scale in production or in high-impact research environments.
• Passionate about computer vision, natural language processing, especially in LLMs and Generative AI systems.
• Knowledge of common frameworks and tools such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience in anomaly detection and forecasting methodologies.
• Experience and proficiency in Python and writing efficient SQL queries.
• Strong coding and software engineering skills, with familiarity in testing, code reviews, and deployment.
• Proven experience with transformer models such as BERT and GPT, and understanding of their underlying principles is a plus.
• Proficient in data visualization tools such as Superset, Streamlit, Tableau, Business Objects, and Looker.

• Drive the development and deployment of innovative AI models and systems.
• Implement robust, scalable ML infrastructure for data storage, processing, and model serving.
• Develop novel feature engineering, data augmentation, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning frameworks.
• Design and implement automated ML pipelines for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, hyper-parameter tuning, and model evaluation.
• Implement advanced model compression and optimization techniques to reduce resource footprint while preserving performance.
• Engage directly with key business partners to understand business strategies and solution needs.
• Lead functional and technical discussions with development teams to design and own end-to-end applications.
