The Sensing Architecture team at Apple is focused on developing advanced technologies and sensor modules for various products, including iPhone and Apple Watch. The role involves architecting next-generation sensing hardware systems and delivering comprehensive architecture packages. The engineer will work on sensor and ASIC requirements, back-end algorithms, and calibration needs. Collaboration with hardware teams is essential to resolve technical issues and streamline design processes.
Requirements
- B.S. degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mathematics, or Mechanical Engineering
- M.S. or Ph.D. with relevant project or coursework experience in designing sensing systems
- Deep understanding of electrical engineering, transducer physics, and system engineering
- Experience in modeling complex multi-physics and electrical systems
- Block level circuit simulation experience
- Knowledge of signal processing techniques, both analog and digital
- Familiarity with linear algebra, probability, and statistics
- Proficiency in MATLAB or equivalent packages
- Experience in leveraging AIML technologies for enhanced efficiency
- Understanding of software architecture best practices for complicated tool flows
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
Responsibilities
- Architect the end-to-end sensing system including sensor and ASIC requirements
- Deliver an architecture package backed by extensive modeling and simulations
- Help hardware teams accelerate progress by clarifying ambiguous design spaces
- Independently converge technical issues and align efforts across teams
