Job description

The Sensing Architecture team at Apple is seeking a resourceful engineer and architect to develop next-generation sensing hardware systems for innovative devices like iPhone and Apple Watch. This role involves architecting end-to-end sensing systems, including sensor and ASIC requirements, as well as back-end algorithms. The engineer will deliver an architecture package supported by extensive modeling and simulations to help hardware teams build optimized sensing systems. Collaboration across teams and addressing technical challenges will be key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mathematics, or Mechanical Engineering
  • M.S. or Ph.D. with relevant project or coursework experience in designing sensing systems
  • Deep understanding of electrical engineering, transducer physics, and system engineering
  • Experience in modeling complex multi-physics and electrical systems
  • Block level circuit simulation experience
  • Knowledge of signal processing techniques, both analog and digital
  • Basics of linear algebra, probability, and statistics
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or equivalent packages
  • Experience in leveraging AIML technologies for enhanced efficiency
  • Familiarity with software architecture best practices for complicated tool flows
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an architecture package backed by extensive modeling and simulations
  • Help hardware teams accelerate progress by clarifying ambiguous design spaces
