Job description
As the leader of Network Security Engineering at Apple, you will collaborate with the SDI team to design and operationalize innovative security solutions for Apple's hyperscale network infrastructure. This role encompasses the full spectrum of network security, focusing on protecting hybrid environments through advanced security controls and best practices. You will work closely with various infrastructure organizations and influence the design of next-generation security products. The position requires a strong passion for securing large-scale cloud and data center network infrastructures.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in building, securing, and deploying large-scale data center network and cloud environments
- 5+ years of security leadership experience
- 3+ years in a senior architecture role
- Sophisticated knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, security protocols, and large-scale network features
- Deep technical background in network-layer security mechanisms
- Cloud-scale networking security background in developing, enforcing, and maintaining security frameworks
- Extensive understanding of public and private cloud networking security architecture
- Experience in OVS, Container, and Kube networking
- Strong technical presentation and communication skills
- Proven experience leading and mentoring senior engineers and architects
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the SDI team to influence security product design
- Operationalize innovative security solutions for Apple's network infrastructure
- Apply advanced network security controls across on-prem, cloud, and multi-cloud deployments
- Drive ideas from inception to implementation in network security
- Partner with AI/ML platform teams, Cloud Platform teams, and other infrastructure organizations
- Influence architecture decisions to embed security early in the design process
