Job description
The Core Integration Architecture (CIA) team is seeking a senior design engineer to lead future architecture platforms for Mac products and new product categories. This small team focuses on developing foundational core technologies and innovative product architectures. Collaboration with Apple's Industrial Design team and various specialists is key to creating high-quality, long-lasting products. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment that values creativity and the exploration of new ideas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience designing consumer electronics or similarly complex products.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software such as NX, SolidWorks, or ProE.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively share ideas.
- Experience in selecting appropriate engineering materials and manufacturing methods.
Responsibilities
- Drive design from blue sky concept through a coherent and resolved architecture.
- Contribute novel design solutions to new and existing challenges.
- Prototype new product ideas by 3D modeling, fabricating, and assembling mockups.
- Characterize designs, run Design of Experiments (DOEs), and conduct root cause failure analysis.
