Job description
The Siri Attention & Invocation team at Apple is seeking Machine Learning Engineers to enhance voice invocation experiences on Apple devices. The role focuses on developing and deploying machine learning models that improve Siri's conversational capabilities while ensuring user privacy and quality. Candidates will work in a collaborative environment with software engineers and machine learning scientists to innovate and optimize user experiences. This position requires a blend of academic knowledge and practical engineering skills to advance the state-of-the-art in applied machine learning.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience with scalable machine learning technologies
- Strong background in machine learning and deep learning, with a preference for experience in speech recognition
- Proficiency in deep learning and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, as well as programming languages including C, C++, and Python
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with significant engineering experience
- Industry experience in product development and deployment, with an understanding of the full software product life cycle
Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end model training and evaluation pipelines
- Deploy machine-learned, on-device models aligned with Apple's core values
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and robust models
- Measure the impact of deployed models on production traffic and optimize error rates
- Define new metrics to enhance user experience and apply them to relevant data
