You will transform research innovations into production-ready solutions, ensuring efficient on-device performance while maintaining user privacy. This role involves working across the complete ML lifecycle, from building data pipelines to deploying models in production systems. Collaborating with researchers and engineers, you will tackle complex challenges in visual understanding and spatial intelligence.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience with a proven track record of shipping products.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and C/C++.
  • Hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow/Keras.
  • Solid background with Computer Vision libraries and frameworks like OpenCV.
  • Experience training and optimizing machine learning models for computer vision applications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with Gen AI coding tools.
  • Experience developing on macOS and iOS platforms.
  • Familiarity with Apple's internal ML/CV frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with distributed training on clusters and multi-GPU systems.
  • Knowledge of Apple Neural Engine optimization techniques.
  • Experience with temporal/sequential neural network architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced computer vision solutions that run efficiently on-device.
  • Build robust data pipelines and train deep learning models on distributed clusters.
  • Optimize models for Apple's Neural Engine and deploy them in production systems.
  • Develop systems that enable devices to perceive their position and navigate the world.
  • Collaborate with researchers and product teams to tackle challenging problems in visual understanding.
  • Balance innovation with the constraints of shipping products at scale.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
