Job description

The Beats Accessories Product Design team is looking for a product design engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation accessory products. This role involves collaboration with various teams, including Industrial Design and Electrical Engineering, to define product objectives and validate designs. The engineer will work in a dynamic environment, focusing on integrating advanced components while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. The position may require some international travel.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in product design or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrated ability in plastic and metal part design
  • 3-D CAD skills
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Some experience with basic finite element analysis and general mechanical engineering analysis
  • Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment
  • Ability to travel internationally (10%+)
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers
  • Consumer electronics design experience
  • Integration of wireless antenna (GSM, GPS, Wifi) into mechanical enclosures
  • Experience with component modules such as audio drivers, batteries, and power supplies
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Conceive, design, test, and solve problems for a diverse array of accessory products.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define product objectives and design solutions.
  • Validate the performance of designs through mass production.
  • Integrate advanced components into new products.
