Job description

In this lead role within Softgoods Engineering, you will leverage your design experience to define architectures and develop innovative Softgoods products. The team focuses on integrating textiles and soft polymers into Apple's product lines, enhancing functionality and aesthetics. You will collaborate with a diverse group of creative thinkers in customized labs to deliver extraordinary products. This position requires a strong understanding of both design and engineering principles as they apply to soft materials.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 7+ years of product design experience with extensive CAD experience
  • MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 12+ years of product design experience with NX
  • Previous experience in Softgoods and/or wearables product design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Define Softgoods architectures for new product designs
  • Design, develop, and ship Softgoods products that delight customers
  • Integrate electrical and mechanical components into Softgoods
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to present technical concepts
  • Learn and adapt to unique materials and assembly processes in Softgoods
