Job description

The role is for an engineer within the Wireless Radio team at Apple, focusing on the design and validation of radio transceivers integrated into wireless SoCs. The team is responsible for advancing wireless silicon development to enhance user experiences across millions of products. Candidates will collaborate with various product development groups to innovate wireless connectivity solutions. This position requires a strong background in RF/analog and mixed-signal design, particularly in deep sub-micron RFCMOS technology.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven RF/analog and mixed-signal design experience in RF CMOS design.
  • Strong understanding of analog design concepts including noise, linearity, and stability.
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF, Matlab, and EM simulation tools.
  • Direct experience in designing wireless transceivers for mass production in deep sub-micron RFCMOS technology.
  • Understanding of DFT and DFM techniques for mass production environments.
  • MSEE or PhD with relevant industry experience.
  • Solid understanding of modulation types and their impact on radio architecture.
  • Validated capability to collaborate with digital design groups.
  • Familiarity with integration flows and challenges of wireless SoCs.
  • Good understanding of desense and ability to work with RF/HW/Antenna teams.
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal mode verification methodology.
  • Extensive experience in silicon characterization and debugging.
  • Ability to drive strong production test and QA methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and validate radio transceivers for wireless SoCs.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to innovate wireless technologies.
  • Transform improved hardware elements into coordinated designs.
  • Work on the integration of wireless connectivity solutions into products.
  • Optimize board/module layouts for desense mitigation.
  • Drive production test and QA methodologies for wireless products.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
