Job description

The Engineering Program Manager (EPM) role at Apple's Hardware Technology Engineering Program Management Team focuses on driving the technical execution of projects within the Silicon Engineering CAD organization. The position involves collaborating with various teams to manage schedules, resolve issues, and ensure project requirements are met. The EPM will play a crucial role in overseeing both front-end and back-end silicon CAD design flows, while also managing infrastructure and data center builds. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and program management skills to facilitate successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of proven experience in engineering program management.
  • Knowledge of chip design and/or CAD flow is required.
  • Experience with front-end or back-end CAD tools and flows.
  • Experience in engineering environments related to EDA or chip design.
  • Familiarity with large HPC datacenter equipment or EDA tool dependencies.
  • Proficient with Gantt chart and program management tracking tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive high-level achievements by focusing the CAD team on meeting near-term landmarks.
  • Run and track project schedules by driving high-level achievement execution.
  • Participate in early planning of new projects, including resourcing and scheduling.
  • Assist with planning new project schedules and track them diligently to completion.
  • Drive weekly schedule and communication meetings with upper management.
  • Ensure effective project schedule and dependency communication with dependent teams.
  • Be proactive and hands-on to ensure tasks are completed.
