Job description
In this lead role within the Softgoods Engineering team at Apple, you will leverage your design experience to define Softgoods architectures and develop innovative products that enhance existing product lines. The team focuses on integrating textiles and soft polymers into Apple products, creating functional and aesthetically pleasing solutions. You will work in customized labs alongside a diverse group of creative thinkers, learning to merge electrical and mechanical components with soft materials. This position requires a strong background in product design and the ability to communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 7+ years of product design experience with extensive CAD experience
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 12+ years of product design experience with NX software
- Previous experience in Softgoods and/or wearables product design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Define Softgoods architectures for new product designs
- Design, develop, and ship Softgoods products that delight customers
- Collaborate with a cohesive team of creative thinkers
- Integrate electrical and mechanical components into Softgoods
